About Us
Riverdale Hatzalah was founded in September 1989. Day in and day out, at all hours,
the dedicated volunteers of Riverdale Hatzalah provide expert emergency medical and life
saving services with compassion and professionalism.
Our dedicated volunteer emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics man two fully equipped advanced life-support ambulances to provide immediate response and the highest quality emergency medical and life saving services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In addition to the ambulances, each first response unit is equipped with state of the art emergency equipment, including cardiac defibrillators.

• Riverdale Hatzalah responds to more than 700 calls for help every year.
• Riverdale Hatzalah maintains two fully equipped ambulances.
• Riverdale Hatzalah is an entirely volunteer organization, composed of your neighbors,
with neither employees nor an office. 100% of your donation goes towards our
operating budget.
• Riverdale Hatzalah has more than 30 members. They include New York
State-certified
Paramedics who provide advanced life support and Emergency Medical Technicians
who provide basic life support supplied with the latest emergency medical technology.
• Riverdale Hatzalah is prepared and appropriately equipped to respond to any mass
casualty
situation.
• All members receive sensitivity training in elder/child/spousal abuse, drug
and alcohol abuse.
• All members are equipped with defibrillators, as well as EPI-pens to treat
allergic reactions and albuterol to treat asthma.
