About Riverdale Hatzalah
We are your neighbors. Since 1989, our dedicated volunteer EMTs and paramedics have provided non-profit emergency medical response and high quality care to the Riverdale community and surrounding area, 24 hours a day.
Our 55 responders are trained and certified to the highest state and national standards, and are equipped with the latest emergency equipment, including cardiac defibrillators and lifesaving medications.
We operate an innovative 2-tier response system that allows us to rapidly respond to emergencies in our service area by utilizing both ambulances and first response vehicles located throughout the community.
Why do our responders volunteer their time? Why do we spend hundreds of hours in medical training? Why do we leave our families in the middle of the cold winter nights? Because we're your neighbors.

Emergency Medical Response
24/7 Emergency Dispatch
As part of the acclaimed NYC Hatzalah System, Riverdale Hatzalah is dispatched by a citywide communications center that operates 24 hours a day
Innovative First Response System
Using state-certified first response vehicles, Hatzalah dispatches the closest EMTs directly to the scene so care can begin before an ambulance arrives
Since 2009, our free community CPR program has trained over 2,000 of your neighbors in CPR, AED, choking relief and first aid
Free Community CPR Training
Our volunteers provide medical coverage for major local events, including: Riverfest, RJC Safety Day and the Riverdale 5K
